How much cash can you take to Thailand?
There is no cap on what you may carry into Thailand. At THB 450,000 or more you must tell customs, which is free and takes a few minutes. The same figure applies leaving.

Applies per person. Each traveller has their own figure. That does not make splitting a large sum across a group to avoid the threshold lawful — several countries treat that as an offence in its own right.

Foreign currency: must declare if equivalent exceeds THB 450,000 (approx USD 13,000) on entry or exit. Thai baht (THB): residents may take out up to THB 2,000,000 per trip; non-residents up to THB 500,000. Same threshold both directions, per individual traveller. Note: some sources cite USD 20,000 as the foreign-currency threshold — verify with Thai Customs for current rules.
