How much cash can you take to Mexico?
There is no cap on what you may carry into Mexico. At USD 10,000 or more you must tell customs, which is free and takes a few minutes. The same figure applies leaving.

Applies per person. Each traveller has their own figure. That does not make splitting a large sum across a group to avoid the threshold lawful — several countries treat that as an offence in its own right.

The rule in Mexico, in full
Travellers must declare cash, cheques, money orders or any other monetary instrument totalling more than USD 10,000 (or equivalent in any currency) when entering or leaving Mexico. Same threshold both directions. Per individual traveller — each person in a group must declare independently. Failure to declare may result in confiscation and fines.
