Yes. Airlo doesn't charge any platform fees, commissions, or escrow charges. When a sender pays a traveler, the entire amount goes between those two people directly. The platform is supported by voluntary community donations.

Senders and travelers agree on a price in chat after the booking is accepted. They settle directly — cash on handoff is the most common, but UPI, Interac e-Transfer, Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle all work too. Travelers can save their preferred payment handles in their profile so senders see exactly how to pay them after acceptance.

Two things. First, every traveler is required to open and inspect a parcel before accepting it — sealed packages are never allowed. Second, our prohibited items list is strict and public, and violating it gets you banned and reported to authorities. The inspect-before-accept rule means travelers control what they carry.

Both parties can raise a dispute from the booking screen. An Airlo admin reviews the complete message history (everything stays inside Airlo) and may suspend or remove members who violate the rules. Because we don't hold any money, we can't issue refunds — that's why we recommend paying part on handoff and part on delivery confirmation for higher-value carries.

Yes — this is one of the most common ways people use Airlo. Post a companion request with the route and dates, or search travelers already flying it, and choose someone whose profile and reviews you trust. Most families arrange a video call before the trip so everyone has met. On travel day the companion helps with check-in, connections, and arrival, and stays reachable with your family throughout. Many members specifically offer elderly-care assistance, and female-only companions are an option too.

Whatever the two of you agree — Airlo doesn't set prices or take a cut. Travelers who are flying anyway often ask only a small thank-you; others set a fee for dedicated assistance like elderly care. You agree on the amount in chat before anything is confirmed and settle directly, exactly as with parcels. Some members offer companionship for free.

The same way as every Airlo member: government-issued ID plus a selfie video, manually reviewed before they can transact, with public reviews from previous journeys on their profile. On top of that, you do your own vetting — message them, ask questions, arrange a video call with the person they'd be traveling with. Nothing is binding until you're comfortable, and you can walk away at any point before the trip.

Absolutely. Trip creation has a 'Make this trip free' toggle. Many travelers list short hops for free because they want the social connection or because someone they know is sending. You're never required to charge.

Anyone 18 or older with a valid government-issued ID, in countries where Airlo is available. You'll need to complete ID verification before you can book or carry — that's free and usually takes a few minutes.

Travelers list trips between any two airports — so the network is shaped by where members actually fly. Major routes (US ↔ India, UK ↔ Europe, Australia ↔ Asia) have the most coverage. If your route is rare, you can post your request and travelers heading that way will see it.

Senders are responsible for declaring contents and providing any necessary documentation. Travelers must know what they're carrying (the inspect rule again) and follow customs rules at the destination. Always declare items above the personal allowance — Airlo is not a workaround for customs law.
