AUD 10,000 or more in physical currency (Australian or foreign notes/coins) or bearer negotiable instruments must be reported when entering or leaving Australia. Same threshold both directions, per traveller. Report is made to the Australian Border Force (ABF) via an online form or paper form. AUSTRAC monitors cross-border movement data for anti-money-laundering purposes. No permission required; declaration only.
