Trust & Safety
How Airlo keeps exchanges safe
Airlo connects people who have not met and asks one to carry something for the other. That only works when safety is structural. This page describes each protection as it operates today.
Identity verification
Every account begins with a verified email address. Members can additionally complete government-ID verification, which is reviewed manually before a verified badge appears on their profile, and may link professional and social accounts as further signals.
Ratings, written reviews, and completion rates are derived exclusively from completed bookings. No reputation statistic on Airlo is self-reported.
Privacy by default
Personal information is disclosed progressively. Full names and photos are visible only to signed-in members, and a traveler's flight details — airline, flight number, terminal — are shared with a counterpart only after a booking has been accepted.
Authentication is passwordless, based on single-use email codes, and sessions are held in cookies that page scripts cannot read.
Parcel declarations
A luggage booking cannot be created without a written declaration of contents and an explicit confirmation that the parcel contains no prohibited items. Senders may attach a photograph of the item so the traveler sees exactly what they are agreeing to carry.
Listings and declarations that reference restricted goods are rejected automatically at submission.
Delivery confirmation
Handoffs are confirmed with a single-use PIN exchanged in person, subject to a strict limit on incorrect attempts. Photographs can be attached at handoff.
Every status change is recorded on a timeline visible to both parties, so each booking carries a complete shared record from request to delivery.
Disputes and enforcement
Any booking can be reported. A report opens a case with the Airlo team, both parties are notified by email, and the outcome is recorded against the booking.
Serious or repeated violations result in account action. Because accounts are identity-verified, they are not disposable.
Payments and data
Airlo does not process payments, hold funds, or store payment credentials. Parties agree terms directly and settle between themselves; Airlo charges no fee on any transaction.
Identity documents are deleted when an account is closed, and accounts inactive for an extended period are anonymized automatically.
The limits of what Airlo provides
Airlo is a community marketplace, not a courier or an insurer. It does not guarantee delivery, insure parcels, or hold funds in escrow. Verification and delivery confirmation reduce risk; they do not remove it. Members remain responsible for complying with the customs regulations of every country on their route and with the prohibited items policy, and should never agree to carry a sealed package they have not inspected.
Passwordless authentication
Single-use email codes. No passwords are created or stored.
No payment data
Airlo never collects or stores payment credentials.
Data retention
ID documents are deleted on account closure; dormant accounts are anonymized.
Detailed policies are set out in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Questions about safety are answered in the Help Center or through contact.
