How much cash can you take to Kuwait?
There is no cap on what you may carry into Kuwait. At KWD 3,000 or more you must tell customs, which is free and takes a few minutes. The same figure applies leaving.
Entering Kuwait
KWD 3,000
or more — declare it
Leaving Kuwait
KWD 3,000
or more — declare it
Applies per person. Each traveller has their own figure. That does not make splitting a large sum across a group to avoid the threshold lawful — several countries treat that as an offence in its own right.

The figure above is only one end of the trip. Add where you're coming from or going to for both.

The rule in Kuwait, in full
Rule effective 18 July 2025: travellers entering or leaving Kuwait must declare cash (and gold/luxury items) exceeding KWD 3,000 (approx USD 9,700-9,820) in any currency. Declaration is now electronic via the Sahel app, replacing paper forms. Applies to all travellers regardless of nationality. Sources do not explicitly state per-person vs per-group; treated as per individual traveller (perGroup=false) consistent with regional norms — confirm if precision required. Threshold defined in KWD.
Form: Electronic cash declaration via the Sahel (Sahel) unified government e-services app. Get it from the authority at the border or their site — we don't mirror it here, because forms are revised without notice and a stale copy is worse than none.
