Good to know
aduana.gob.cu homepage refuses connections from abroad; some deep pages load. Official pages confirmed the USD 5,000 cash declaration, 5,000 CUP peso cap and the open-ended food/medicine/toiletries exemption; alcohol/tobacco/goods-value figures are from IATA Travel Centre (aduana pages with those numbers unreachable). Dual-currency quirk: declare freely convertible currency from USD 5,000, but CUP itself has a hard 5,000-peso import/export cap
The official customs site was unreachable when checked (2026-08-01) — figures rest on a reputable secondary source ·source · Guidance, not law — allowances change and the customs officer has the final say. Verify before you fly.
